My desire to teach Hypnobabies came after having my son Liam in October 2007. I had a wonderful birthing experience, and had him at Carolyn’s house in a large tub surrounded by peaceful music and supportive people. His birth changed my perspective on myself and I felt empowered by the birthing experience. I want other women to feel what I felt. After doing some research, I believe that the Hypnobabies childbirth program will help women have an amazing experience, gently and confidently.

Since becoming certified, I have birthed another beautiful son, Nicholas; in our home kiddie pool while using Hypnobabies. My children’s birth stories can be read on my blog: http://confessionsofamisplacedalaskan.wordpress.com/brth-stories/

In addition to teaching Hypnobabies, I work at a power company as an Electrical Engineer in Chattanooga, TN. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University.

I have been a midwife for over 25 years and have been part of many different birth experiences. When I attended a client that had a completely comfortable birth using Hypnobabies, I became interested in learning more. I took the Hypnobabies training course in 2008. I love teaching Hypnobabies and sharing the amazing journey of pregnancy and birth with so many wonderful families. In addition to my career as a midwife and Hypnobabies instructor, I am also an historian. I earned my Master of Arts Degree in Women's History and hold a faculty position teaching the history of midwifery at Aviva Institute, a private midwifery program. I have a great desire to connect and communicate with mothers-to-be and new mothers on many levels, including education, support, and community.
